We've listed the top five design sites that we read and a bit about why we adore each one and how they inform our thinking about graphic design and website design. Layout Week ‘online' replaced the much loved ‘printed' magazine that was a much looked forward to read every week (away from the computer!) . It was a sad day when that went out of print, the ending of an era. Design Week since it's today gives us a concise round up of design news, views and inspiration across branding, editorial, exhibition, furniture, images, interactive, insides, packaging, printing, merchandise and retail. We love to read the perspectives of industry people.



When logos have been unveiled, like the London Olympics 2012, it caused great online debate that newest many decades! 'Voxpop' is full of designer’s opinions (we're quite opinionated)... What was the best piece of layout in 2012? How could Google's Project Glass eyeglasses be embraced? It's also perfect for keeping an eye on up and coming design and art displays.

We have loved this novel since sharing a thumbed-up replicate at Art school back in the 90's. 'Creative Review' remains available as a newspaper production and a few of Design Week went into this since it has the exact same publisher. We enjoy this site site as it displays work that is quite unique to other blogs, often work that gives you'a grin in the brain'. It focuses on graphics, books, packaging and photography. We adore the bright high five'highlights' along with the simple clean look of the site in bitesize. According to Design Taxi, they have succeeded in"Driving one to bright ideas for the previous ten years." We concur! The blog has consise views on layout across digital and print, interviews with designers, and exhibition information. It's very authoritative and informative on design issues.

The Dieline
I'm not sure how many people know about this blog, but I only recently found it and enjoyed what I saw. If you're interested in finding good packaging design inspiration, then this is the place to locate it. You can even vote on layouts you like to share your view on the design.

The posts include big and sharp images of the products. More complicated packages might also include a variety of shots. There are also lots of print design tutorials which are currently on the market and should be surfacing soon. That said, the choice of materials that's on the site at the time of this writing seem to be really helpful. A nice amount of current roundups of things like icon sets poster design, etc...
